I am a Socially Engaged Artist from London.

My art embraces both the visual and auditory, from painting, drawing and photography, to the rhythmic world of sound.

I have just graduated the Creative and Therapeutic Arts course (BA Hons, First Class) at the University of South Wales, one of only two of its kind in the UK. Here, I facilitated dynamic creative workshops, connecting with diverse groups and communities across all life paths, nurturing our need for human connection, self-expression and peace.

Within these workshops, I encourage and support a calm and relaxed space where stories can be shared, and voices can be spoken and heard without judgement. I have found that setting aside a time and place for a group to connect, putting the kettle on and laying out some materials for making can enable this, and can nourish each individual's innate and authentic ways of expressing themselves. I seek to encourage others to find confidence in this and feel validated and celebrated in doing so. These sessions are collaborative and driven by the interests and ideas of those who attend them.

Hearing people's stories is what sparks inspiration. Often my work will incorporate different voices within sound pieces. I am interested in our everyday dialogues and ways of being. I truly love the different tones, accents, volumes, expressions each voice holds, it's like music or paint to my ears. When making sound work, I make as though it is a collage.

I often paint alongside or in response to the sound, although painting alone is another way I enjoy expressing myself. When painting, I can become totally immersed, reaching a state of flow. I often find I am driven to the colours of the sea, the sun, the sky, the earth and the trees; oranges, reds, yellows, greens, blues, and I find such therapeutic value in getting messy and textural with the paints I use. This sense of play and freedom is something I encourage in my workshops.

It is through my discovery of how making helped my own healing, that I was inspired to share the therapeutic value creative expression can hold with others, in whatever way that manifests for each person.
