Preparing the palettes for transportation and basic bench design structure!

It's finally falling into place....and amazingly the cut of the wood slots perfectly to form plant beds in the back of the seat, if this feels like a nice addition for the group. I can now transport the wood to the hub and problem solve and plan how it will be possible to create legs and secure the wood into place with the guys! Other things to consider: sanding (probably has to be hand sanding due to health and safety) and teak oil...also carving names of the gardeners with a burning wood tool-pyrography pen. So helpful to be around friends in the studio, bouncing off one another and helping each other...I was guided in my decision-making and inspiring and consolidating ideas.

Transporting benches:

Hi Connie

Someone will have to let you in the front gate which has a padlock, there is a number for the rangers on the gate and if you tell them you are working with us they will come and let you in

Hi Ros,

Perfect! I shall do so this Wednesday if all okay with you.

I wondered how you think the group would feel if I asked for consent and permission to perhaps timelapse us building the bench together and record the audio of the interactions and process/just audio recordings of the days in general? I 'd like to create a soundscape about the people and surrounding nature of the place and DNA of the bench(es) made so that a QR code can be made accompanying it. Audio recording I love because it's not intrusive and people forget it's there after a while so it just picks up on the natural interactions.

Can't wait for Wednesday, I have myself some wood screws, my own drill/driver that I've popped home for and a handsaw!

Connie 🙂

Talking to Matt for advice on wood screws to use:

5 x 60 mm

sandpaper wrapped around wood, 80 grain

advice on design

put plastic in planters (drill through) before planting as otherwise wet back...will last longer.
